Matt Gonsalves is Vice President & Broker – Mortgage Lending at Foremost Financial, where he specializes in construction, development and commercial real estate financing throughout the Greater Toronto Area and Southern Ontario.

Since joining Foremost in 2013, Matt has built a particular expertise in financing small and mid-sized real estate development projects, including multiplexes, infill housing, townhomes, walk-up apartments, custom homes and small residential subdivisions. He works closely with developers, builders, investors and mortgage brokers to structure practical financing solutions for acquisitions, construction, site servicing, bridge financing and completed inventory.

Matt has originated loans across a broad range of real estate asset classes and project types, including land acquisitions, development and site servicing, residential construction, commercial and residential bridge loans, condominium inventory, industrial projects, daycare facilities and other specialized commercial properties.

He is particularly active in Toronto’s Missing Middle housing sector and has extensive experience financing multiplex and small-scale infill developments. Matt’s approach combines a strong understanding of construction and development economics with responsive service and practical deal structuring, helping borrowers navigate projects from acquisition through construction and ultimately to longer-term financing or sale.

Matt holds an Honours Bachelor of Business Administration from Wilfrid Laurier University.
